It is better for children to grow up in the countryside than in a big city. Do you agree or disagree? Use specific reasons and examples to develop your essay. People hold varying opinions as to where children had better grow up. Whereas some argue a megacity is the best option, it seems growing up in the countryside will be of greater benefit to them. One the one hand, raising being raised in a conurbation is often considered to have various advantages for children. To begin with, educational facilities are far more advanced in these areas. The government, ordinarily, would rather spend a higher proportion of public funds in big cities, in which more people are residing; as a result, not only would children enjoy a superior education system with more tools and amenities, but also they would have more options to choose from. For instance, there are a variety of institutions in bigger cities, each of which possesses more seasoned teachers and coaches in a special field, such as art, linguistics, or math. Furthermore, the healthcare system in cities are is significantly in a better shape and equipped with the most recent medical innovations. While growing up, children are more prone to health-related complications and diseases which might endanger their both physical and mental well-being unless they had have immediate access to hospitals and experienced physicians, so many parents prefer to raise their children in cities. On the other hand, it is even more crucial to bring up children with higher awareness and respect towards the environment. The environmental hazards in the world and how these might threaten the populace in near future has have been a source of worry and frustrations for many experts, and people’s lifestyle in big cities has been greatly contributing to these problems. By encouraging parents to raise their children in rural places, we would be more likely to mitigate the damaging knock-on effects that overpopulation in cities has caused, including pollution and the process of deforestation to develop the cities, to just name a few. Besides, living in the countryside would provide to the new generation with a more precise and practical insight to interact with nature. Short of having this outlook, children would not feel the importance of preserving the environment, nor would they acquire abilities to effectively manage natural resources, hence more insurmountable obstacles for them on in the years to come. In conclusion, although I understand the reasons why many people choose to raise their children in big cities, I am holding on to the view that the countryside is a preferable choice as it helps every child getting get a fair shot to prosper in the long run.
