Some people believe that teaching children at home is best for a child’s development while others think that it is important for children to go to school. Discuss the advantages of both methods and give your own opinion. Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience. It is true that children’s education plays an imperative role in their overall success and wellbeing. While some people hold the view that children should be homeschooled, others argue that role of schools in children’s growth is inevitable. On the one hand, educating children at home would be of several benefits to them. Firstly, homeschooling can set out in early ages. While being in the brain development stage, children enjoy superior capabilities especially in fields such as language and math. If parents prepare educational opportunities for them at home, they are more likely to have a leg up upon their peers, thereby experiencing a far higher success rate as an adult. Secondly, children can be trained at their own pace. Curriculums which are taught in public educational environments are designed for average intellectual abilities; however, when taught at home individually, children do not feel strained to assimilate arduous subjects, nor do they feel bored by the effortless syllabus. On the other hand, children would benefit by attending to school in many ways. One advantage is that both parents would have more time to spend on their careers. Families, therefore, would access to greater financial resources, for they receive two wages. Furthermore, studying at school and in groups would improve pupils’ social skills. They will learn how to interact with other people and finish a task in co-operation with their classmates, which nowadays are considered an indispensable part of working in enterprise companies. In on the contrary, children who study in an almost isolated environment like home will not be equipped with the necessary teamwork spirits. In conclusion, I argue that what in society is considered excellent education should be a complementary partnership between home and school, and children’s education, if deprived of any of them, would definitely suffer.
