Some suggest that young people should take a job for a few years between school and university. Discuss what the advantages and disadvantages might be for people who do this. Going to university has become very popular nowadays. Some prefer going straight to university while others think that working for a period of time can be helpful. There are some advantages to this but, in my opinion it has/involves some risks and may lead to some problems. The main disadvantage of working after school is that you may find it harder to get a university place in a later stage. The longer you wait, the harder you find it to get a place. This is because there are a lot of competitions among volunteers. You may find that the requirements of a field that you want has have been changed and does do not meet your situations . Another weak side is that you may lose your studying habit. School students are trained to have some study skills which is/are very useful for academic success. However, if you do not use these essential skills regularly, you will find university life much harder. On the other hand ,there can be some advantages to getting a job. The first is that you earn money which can be saved and used to pay for university fees. Another benefit is that you will have some time to think about your interests/pursuits and what you really like to study at university. This is essentially helpful when you are not sure about your future career. Overall, I think there are many arguments for and against the idea of working before university . What is important is that you must be aware of these issues to take the best decision for your future.
