Give your opinion and examples. Nowadays parents are giving more freedom to their kids comparing to the past. In my opinion, this is not a controversial subject although it has some advantages along with its disadvantages. In this essay, I am trying to expand my viewpoints with examples to make my personal point of view clearer. We are experiencing a modern lifestyle in which time is the most valuable asset amongst other commodities we can imagine. In the hectic pace of life parents hardly find enough time to dedicate to their treasures which are nothing other than their children and this automatically leads to more freedom for to children. They are free to surf on the Internet, watch different channels on television and communicate with their friends or even strangers on their mobile phones. As kids do not have enough experience, the mentioned items can easily damage them physically or emotionally. Pornography and child abuse are 2 vivid examples which threatens kids who are enjoying unlimited freedom. However, By giving more freedom to children, in fact parents are preparing them to learn the necessary skills to live independently and be ready to solve the problems they will face sooner or later in future. As an example let's consider a child who is under the control of his parents even for watching a television program, in most cases parents advise their children to watch educational channels and this makes child's brain lazy in a way that he thinks there is always someone who decides or help him to decide and this definitely makes/renders him unable to make important decision by himself. In a nutshell, I personally believe that children have to experience freedom while this very freedom should not be an unlimited one. In general, I think unlimited freedom is not freedom, it changes from freedom into anarchism. The same story applies for freedom for children;, if parents do not monitor, not control, their children's activities, there is a high risk that their children might experience bitter experiences. |
