Every year thousands of students go overseas to study. Although many benefit from the experience, others go home disappointed. What are the benefits and drawbacks of studying in another country? Nowadays, studying overseas becomes easier than before due to the improvement of the Internet and social media, which makes it easier to find different colleges and universities and communications. As a result, the number of students seeking to study abroad has increased dramatically in the last decades. Although there are pros and cons to studying in another country, taking advantage of this opportunity completely depends on each person and his/her motivations for educating abroad. For example, learning a new language is difficult but interesting for one person and frustrating for another. Hence, the discussion of its benefits and drawbacks is challenging. Living in a new environment and getting to know people with different languages and cultures is a great experience that not everyone has the opportunity to get. Achieving new educational methods and using better facilities and resources while studying can be mentioned as advantages. Students who gain this knowledge and experience are very useful for the development of their country and society. Of course, living in another country and studying in another language along with loneliness and being homesick, are not as easy as staying in one’s country. In many cases, the students may fell into depression, commit suicide, or experience a feeling of frustration. Some students are unable to complete their studies due to personal problems that lead to expulsion from the university. Overcoming these obstacles totally depends on people personality and their motivation to study abroad. Overall, I think it is so important that students go overseas and pursue their educate education in a different environment. However, they need to be aware of all circumstances and obstacles that they have to deal with.
