It is important for children to learn the differences between right and wrong at an early age. Punishment is necessary to help them learn this distinction. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this opinion? What sort of punishment should parents and teachers be allowed to use to teach good behavior to children? Helping children understand the natural and positive consequences of their actions is conducive to healthy development. However, types of sanctions’ modes in proper age cannot be exempt that if they choose inappropriately by parents, they will not affect efficiently in nurturing a child. Teaching children right from wrong as well as acceptable behavior must be considered the steps of child’s growth, although explaining these rules in age-appropriate terms without any corporal physical punishment or verbal abuse is imperative which can entails lots of negative effects in their future such as getting used to misbehaving like beating and hurting others even in their adulthood. Obviously, how old a child is plays a crucial role in disciplining. For instance, an infant or a toddler cannot distinguish why some acts are not recommended, so when they reach a certain age, they could be encouraged and rewarded for behaving properly in contrast to the discouraging due to disobedience. Both parents and teachers must manage and model their behavior with calm words and actions consistently and then if a penalty is needed, they could regard impose some limitation to inform children. Recently, there have been a variety of modern means to apply against young chargers like loss withdrawal of privileges or time-outs within family and also in the schools, trainers should fit the punishment to the crime such as collecting litter or cleaning the school yard. Therefore, not only does children’s awareness of the value of social behaving increase, but also their sense of responsibility and confidence will improve gradually. In conclusion, by using reasonable and effective discipline methods, rather than either hitting or harsh spanking, we can help provide a solid foundation for children to grow into productive members of society.
