Some students prefer to study and do homework alone. Others prefer to study and work on class assignments with a group of fellow students. Which do you prefer? Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer. Without a doubt, working as a group has benefits beyond learning purposes; it could be helpful for students' future life, whereas while they should be able to play a role as a team member. In my opinion, working on class assignments as a team could be more effective and favorable. I feel this way for two reasons, which I will explain in the following essay. To begin with, improving student's intelligence is not the only responsibility of schools; the biggest concern that the education system should have is their student's social skills. It is critical because these children, as our next generation, would form the society. In my perspective, the most valuable skill that children should learn is being able to participate and collaborate in a group. Moreover, the best place to improve this ability is schools and students' activities throughout school time. My own experience is clear evidence for my opinion. Fortunately, I had an open-minded teacher who lets us do our assignment as a group; it is worth mentioning that it is not a common approach in my country's education system. It had a huge impact on my future life, especially in my career, which requires me to be a team player. In contrast, my cousin studied in another school, which had a rigid policy about student's assignments. The system forced students to work on their assignments on their own. The effect of that policy still bothers my cousin in his professional life. Secondly, doing homework as a team could act as an accelerator for studentslearners. Although it could bring its problems, namely, interacting and collaborating with another person who has a different personality could be quite challenging, but the reward is wellworthy. Indeed, the power of brainstorming is obvious to all of us. For instance, during high school, one of my teachers gave us an assignment, which was so complicated that none of us could solve it alone. Nonetheless, with a short meeting and thought as a group, we solved the problem within ten minutes. Experiences like this are numerous in our daily basis life, and as my point of view, these are strong pieces of evidence to support my opinion. To conclude, the most critical skill that we should assure that students gain is social skills like being team players, and by letting students practice these skills in schools, we are giving them opportunities to improve themselves.
