Many people support use of animals for testing medicines for humans. To what extend extent do you agree? The advances made by humans have made us the dominant species on earth. Many believe, however, this does not justify the way we treat animals, even if it is for scientific and allegedly humanitarian purposes. I feel that I take issue with the suggestion of conducting cruel experiments on animals, simply because we can. First, using animals in various scientific and medical tests by humans has been almost done in the cruelest way. Since the time men managed to exploit other species, we have turned the a blind eye to the fact that we have been nothing but a number of predators, heartless, greedy and indifferent who have managed to outnumber most other species and then ruled the shared planet as it pleases us. Feeding us by their flesh and other products, defending us against other dangerous predators, carrying us on their back, animals have contributed enough to humankind and its his survival. Conducting brutal experiments, although/albeit for a moral end, now, in this ostensibly enlightened time, seems immoral and only another nail to the coffin of humanity. Second, a large number of these experiments have failed to help. Seldom have we seen satisfying results solving problems immediately to prevent or eradicating a disease, due to various factors, including the differences between different species or the special environment created in a laboratory. Even for those so-called “milestones” in medical areas, it was needed ages to be able to use the medicine for humans safely. To compound the problem, there have been reports of such experiments which led to new-brand diseases caused by human errors. The picture illustrated/painted in science-fiction movies may sound fictional but are is inspired by true events. To conclude, although some people think that there are cases where using, torturing, and slaughtering animals can be justified, I, for one, do not subscribe to this suggestion, and I believe this has thus far proven to be fruitless or even disastrous.
