Some people think that universities should provide graduates with the knowledge and skills needed in the workplace. Others think that the true function of a university should be to give access to knowledge for its own sake, regardless of whether the course is useful to an employer. What, in your opinion, should be the main function of a university? The issue of whether universities should specialize in theories or practical applications is certainly a contentious one. Despite the arguments of some people that universities should strictly focus on practicability-wise, I personally believe that the function of them should be spontaneous consideration of these infrangible aspects. On the one hand, it is an indisputable fact that theories are fundamental stems of every knowledge framework. These theories have their own intrinsic value and even if they are not useful to us in any practical way, they should be appreciated nevertheless. Moreover, getting fully comprehension from the strategies of science, graduates would become decent staff being scientifically more aware about the ins and outs of the processes associated with their career. Hence a more competent and qualified group of future workers. On the other hand, having studied tertiary education, people are more likely to pursue a particular job for the rest of their future lifespan. Universities should provide the opportunity to not only bridge between technical skills and abstract knowledge, but also consolidate their life skills which are ranging from problemsolving abilities to team-work cooperation. In other words, I would contend that the presence of both theories and applied(applicable) aspects in a university brings a sense of balance and we should ensure that these core subjects are not neglected. In conclusion, I once again restate my position that applying the knowledge dexterously is contingent on comprehensive understanding of its strategies. The hypothesis should be acknowledged and relentless ignoring of it would lead to ephemeral perception of world of science.
