Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? With the help of technology, students nowadays can learn more information and learn it more quickly. Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer. It is sometimes argued that technology has been a great help to the students’ education, and it seems that not only does technology facilitate the learning process, but also students would be capable of learning more information. Firstly, in today’s day and age, students have accessed an abundance of textbooks, journals, and other forms of educational materials. With the advent of the Internet and accordingly the emergence of digital contents, a student is able to download contents either free or with a small fee on their digital devices. Gone are the times that a student attending a course is obliged to go through the tiresome process of either purchasing a physical copy of a book which he needs or borrowing it from the university library where they lend books only for a limited number of days. They, as a result, could acquire more information short of having much concern about the availability of it. Secondly, technology is often believed to provide students with more efficient ways to use their time. For example, while walking or being on the roads, they can turn an otherwise uneventful commute into fruitful session by listening to an educational recording or podcast on their portable devices. Moreover, there is a huge number of video presentations and interactive media which, if devised appropriately and selectively, not only could accelerate learning a lesson but also would assist them in assimilating arduous concepts with more ease. What all these globally accessible tools are leading to is optimizing students’ time and effort, hence faster educational growth. In conclusion, I am holding on to the view that technology has been of great benefit to students, and educationalist should both encourage and spread use of these useful devices to aid every student in getting a fair shot to prosper.
