Some people think that the recent innovations in technology have made life more comfortable and helped us to be more efficient by saving us time, while others argue that technology has made us less efficient. Discuss both these views and give your own opinion. Technological advancement has brought significant changesd to our lives during the last decades. Yet, there remains some arguments as to whether the overall effect of these inventions have had a positive impact on our life or backfired. While there are certainly valid arguments to the contrary, I personally believe that the benefits of these advancements far outweigh their drawbacks. First of all, it is an indisputable fact that the new achievements in technology have revolutionized the way we live. Those who are in favor of technological inventions argue that owing to the endeavors of scientists not only are we living longer and easier, but also with the higher standards of living. The Inventions of such as invention of electricity, finding the discovery of crude oil, and explosion of information are obvious cases in point. Nowadays people from all walks of life are using vacuum cleaners, washing machines, means of transport, computers and the Internet in every step of their daily life. It is noteworthy to mention that not a long time ago, learning a new language for example required allocating a considerable amount of time, whereas today thanks to the Internet, and soft digital dictionaries, people can learn it in quite a shorter period of time. On the contrary, many consider the negative aspects of new technologies, reasoning these downsides are sometimes so impressive that it seems beyond our control. Suffering from different physical and mental problems owing to the sedentary life style, most people enjoying the modern facilities are losing their health day-by-day. Vulnerable to the risk of obesity and a variety of mental disorders, Children suffer from loose emotional bonds between family members in most societies with very contemporary state-of-the-art facilities. Ironically, the more technological progress, the less efficient usage of time. Wasting time on cyberspace and in traffic jams as a direct result of technological advancement and industrial revolution is a proof of ironic outcomes we did not expect earlier. (in order) Although, many a people man is not in favor of innovative technologies, I strongly support those who believe in the merits of humans’ ’s achievements in science and technology. I reason these changes, however, changed have altered our life into a less uncomfortable and time efficient one. Only after expanding the boundaries of science, can we determine the positive or negative impacts that of change, hence the importance of technological progress.
