Some people think that the government should invest money in arts and cultural events, while others believe that the government should spend money on more important things. Discuss both views and give your own opinion. Investment in culture oriented activities and artistic works by governments in many parts of the world has been praised by a large group of people. There are certainly many individuals who argue that the public budgets should be spent on more basic demands. When it comes to this notion I hold the idea of maintaining a balance between the two opinions. This essay elaborates on both two viewpoints along with my own idea. That arts and cultural events play an important role in improvement of people’s social interactions is an undeniable fact. Although spending money and energy in such fields in a society suffering lack of basic needs such as health care, education, clean water and enough food does not seem reasonable. Encouraging individuals to take part in cultural events can guarantees respect for to moral values in addition to curbing criminal activities of all walks of life. On the other hand, those who are against of investment of governments in artistic works and cultural activities opine that people can live without such products, but definitely lose their lives if they do not have access to their basic needs. They claim that not only is spending governments’ income in cultural fields is not necessary, but also this is a waste of time and financial resources. The more we spend, the more artists and related activistses demand. Disappointed and tired of this hectic pace of life, people apply themselves to acquire their basic needs. By way of conclusion, once again I reaffirm my position that expenditure on cultural activities is as important as infrastructures of countries. A society with a strong culture needs to answer people’s need for their basic demands as well. Most developed countries acquired their achievements based on both cultural events benefits besides prediction of fundamental demands of their nation.
