In a number of countries, some people think it is necessary to spend large sums of money on constructing new railway lines for very fast trains between cities. Others believe the money should be spent on improving existing public transport. Discuss both these views and give your own opinion. Nowadays, it is often claimed that the necessity of new high-speed trains is undeniable and there are some schools of thought which state a lot of money should be spent on constructing these new railway lines. Contrary to this popular belief, there are still those who argue that public transport which exists like buses or trains should be improved. On the one hand, using high-speed trains is not only faster but also more comfortable and safer. Travelling with fast trains gives a chance to people to reach their destinations as soon as possible, especially in this rapidly changing world, time plays an important factor in our life, so investing a huge amount of money in fast trains is logical. Moreover, most roads and motorways are clogged and traffic jams has have been increasing considerably in the last decade. Using high-speed trains can reduce this high volume of traffic significantly, and there are a plethora of spaces for constructing these railway lines. Therefore, people can travel greater distances in a shorter amount of time. Fast trains, however, are very expensive and need enormous investment. Many people believe that this amount of money can be spent on repairing motorways which are used by existing public transport in order to enhance the current condition, and some people argue that only when public transport continues to improve, will traffics be reduced. On the basis of the points mentioned, I am inclined to believe that, although constructing fast trains needs a lot of money, the benefits outweigh the disadvantages. I think in order to make progress and move forward, governments must embrace the idea of high-speed trains so that next generations can live efficiently.
