Many offenders commit more crimes after serving the first punishment. Why is this happening, and what measures can be taken to tackle this problem? There is no denying the fact that many criminals after punishment in prison have more motivation to commit more crimes, and without any doubt this trend is very harmful for societies. Although there are many reasons for this problem, there are some solutions which governments should tackle implement it head-on. From my point of view, the ambience in prisons make the condition worse. When criminals go to jail, they find friends who have acquired many experiences. They would exchange their information about their own personal experiences which will increase their abilities. Moreover, offenders usually are uneducated and without any skill, so it is very difficult for them to find a job and maintain it, and also employers usually avoid hiring people with criminal background. Solving this problem needs many much effort. I think punishment is not the only issue which governments should take into their consideration. Training offenders and using them in different jobs, for example computer programming, designing, carpentry etc. is so beneficial not only for their future but also for the whole society. Only when criminals are forced, will they begin to change. In addition, interacting with people that are educated and play an important role in society can affect them, and being with these people is much more better rather than spending time with other inmates. On the basis of the points mentioned above, I am inclined to believe that for having a better society with the lowest rate of crime, governments and authorities have to arrange constructive programs having positive impact on criminals.
