The impact that growing demand for more flights has had on the environment is a major concern for many countries. Some people believe that one way to limit the number of people traveling by air is to increase taxes on flights. To what extent do you think this could solve the problem? Due to the low price of flights compared with last decades nowadays, people are more traveling by airplanes more. What made flights peculiar unique is that they are quickest means of traveling especially for long distances. Thus, one prefers to travel by an airplane in order to save time. Simply put, when people are concerneding about time constraint, they choose flights rather than other methods of traveling. However, an unavoidable consequence of way too frequently flights is air pollution. Many people argue that we should impose taxes so that we can cut down the amounts of flights. By a large on the contrary, I am of the opinion that this could not be a proper approach for this problem. To begin with, the ever growing number of travelers who choose flights is due to the fact that they are it is affordable by everyone. Therefore, if the taxes increase it would directly effects affect on the rate of futile journeys, which leads to burning a huge amount of petroleum, or forces people to choose the other available alternatives instead. In other words, the more expensive flights, the less pointless traveling we will have. Above all, the emission of carbon dioxide in atmosphere would be less. On the flip side, many opine that the aforementioned policy only target pointing to people from the bottom of the social strata um of society. There have been instances where an ordinary person was able to travel by fights once a year, whereas wealthy families traveling by airplanes ten times as many. Consequently, such policies would not be a force for good. By way of conclusion, I am of the opinion that imposing taxes would be an obstacle lest people causeing more damage to the environment. However, in this case it would only put pressure on lower strataum of society which is not fair.
