Topic: Going overseas for university study is an exciting prospect for many people. But while it may offer some advantages, it is probably better to stay home because of the difficulties a student inevitably encounters living and studying in a different culture. To what extent do you agree or disagree whit this statement? Basically, the primary goal of education is to provide people with sufficient knowledge of skills to have more productive and satisfying lives. To this end, some people prefer going abroad to study in a foreign country with the desire of higher qualifications with while it's all the drawbacks. On the one hand, the perspective of modern education systems and better research facilities encourage people to decide studying abroad. Those in favor enumerate that the most obvious advantages of overseas university studying are learning a foreign language. There is no doubt that studying in other countries provides the opportunity for to real-life use of a different language. Learning several methods to cope with the new culture is another positive aspect of overseas studying. Overcoming these kinds of problems leads to an increase in their self-confidence. It offers them various perspectives of life which is of paramount importance. Overseas qualifications help the students get a better job when they return home. In contrast, one of the major problems with overseas study is that it is expensive. Tuition fees are very/quite high and often the cost of living is higher than that in the students' 's own country. Living far from family not only irritates the students, but also may result in homesickness. The main problems encountered by such students overseas students are culture shock especially for those away from their country for the first time. They miss their friends and family. School has a crucial role to play in this regard. The more campaign of team-wok activities conducted by school consultancy, the less homesickness problem students would encounter. In conclusion, despite of the difficulties of overseas studying, I would argue the advantages of studying abroad outweigh the disadvantages. This long-term investment is a worthwhile gaining experience.
