Many parents use punishment to teach the difference between right and wrong to kids. Many people think punishment is necessary to help children learn the distinction. nowadays, the main priority of parents is to teach their children the ability of making distinction between right and wrong. Meanwhile, some opt for the easier way "punishment" to achieve their goal . Now a query requiring to be raised is whether punishment is basically an the efficient method or not. punishment can take a variety of forms from verbal ‐ being taunted or called hurtful names‐ to physical‐ being kicked or shoved‐ as well as indirect forms , such as being excluded from social groups or being deprived of their favourite activities. punishment is clearly unpleasant and can make a child feeling unworthy and depressed. In the extreme cases, it may lead to suicide, although it is thankfully rare. not only are victimised children more likely to experience difficulties with interpersonal relationships as adults, but also more prone to grow physically violent and convicted of anti‐social offences. Due to the drawbacks which mentioned above, some believe that under no circumstance circumastence should parents not be allowed to mete out physical punishment for any reason. On the other hand, the proponents of this approach assert that some sorts of penalization are absolutely necessary for training children to accept responsibility for their mistakes. Punishment is a decent method to teach the concept of right and wrong. However, it must be used with caution, such that for minor offences they are administered a light penalty. for example, they are not allowed to play games or watch television. in sum, in my opinion, not only is punishment not an appropriate approach in this regard, but rather also it may lead to demonstratione of stubborn persistence in the face of committing repeated mistakes. Parents can indirectly guide their children and for educating them not to do wrong ,in the first place, they as a model should do not perpetrate misdeeds it.
