Nowadays, more and more people are using consumer goods such as refrigerators and washing machines. Are there more advantages or disadvantages to this? Give your own opinion and examples. Consumerism pervades every aspect of our life. A Consumer society tends to buy more and more goods regardless of the necessity to them. Now a query requiring to be raised is whether consumerism fundamentally is a wrong approach or not. It must be madeone distinction that must be made is between the items which are luxurious luxury and those that are useful as well as easing the life, namely refrigerators and washing machines. Therefore, explaining consumer commodities as useful ones or not is heavily reliant on their value of them to raise the living standards. If a society spends time and money on unnecessary items it might represent dilemmas of staggering proportions. Pushing (propel/drive/lead) a community with economic diversification to mere consumerism creates (develops) frustration among people at the lower end of the economic scale. Accordingly, they might try to achieve equality in every possible way that leads them to commit a crime. Furthermore, another byproduct of consumerism is the detrimental damage to the environment. Producing unproductive and inefficient items leads to overusinge vital resources as well as creating environmental pollution. There are several courses of action open to everyone to prevent people from a life of luxury the most important of which is education. Authorities play a substantial role to in informing society by informative plans that can be executed by schools and media. Unfortunately, these days, media only serve to compound the a problem. A constant barrage of advertising is directed at people that not only induce them to buy more and more despite themselves but also promote luxury‐oriented life. Although such goods ease people's lives, some of them generate inflict/do/cause irreparable damages such as health issues owing to overusing of these items, people's physical activity might be reduced. In sum, we cannot definitely say that the benefits overweigh the drawbacks or vice versa. Rather, explaining the adverse or beneficial effects of this phenomenon on society is directly related to the way of usage of these merchandises.
