The maps indicate how a small village in Europe underwent changes and turned to a large tourist place between 1974 and 2004. A glance at the figures reveals that a lot of changes was were had taken place not only in the original village but also in the whole surrounding area over the period under review. Additionally, the population of the village grew from only 12000 in 1974 to 80000 in 2004. However, the population during the tourist season could rise up to 130000. The plans show that these 30 years, some high-raised rise hotels were constructed along the coastline on both sides of the original village. The harbor and the woodland were replaced by a sandy beach and a golf facility for tourists. Also, the olives farm was changed to the farmland for producing fruit and vegetable for hotels. The villages on hills and the homes around the beach were developed for more shops for tourists and more homes for locals.
