Governments should spend money on railways rather than roads. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this statement? Over the last decades, due to advancements in the transportation-related technology, the notions of where governmental investment must be increased in does not seem not to be controversialantagonist problems, whereas it is a dilemma between the rail network and road system. For instance, some factors such as convenience, time of traveling and pollution, in other words, cost-benefit analysis should be taken into consideration to make a feasible decision. On the one hand, flexibility is the most unique features of roads. However, the time cannot be adjusted in the railway system. Moreover, not only are roads available for 24 hours a day, but also transportation via them is more affordable than rail one. Additionally, the individual attribute of no-destination road trips only belongs to roads, while railways deprive people of that extremely enjoyable and incredibly exciting favour. In addition, roads provide door-to-door service which is unfortunately not available in its rail counterpartcontestant. On the other hand, although roads construction is less costly, they are one of the main culprits of air pollution which leads to hazardous serious concerns, likefor example, both health and environmental problems. Thus, roads cause many relevant costs in longterm. And also railway transportation is least affected by weather conditions and traffic jams, so it is considerably faster and more reliable, whilst they can cause some hiccups in road freight which lead to delay. Consequently, moving in on roads has more freedom, but it cannot be safe as rail traveling. Therefore, in fact, raising funds in the railway system, owing to its safety, faster transportation, ability of carrying larger volumes over greater destinations and markedly less pollution is economically and environmentally beneficial.
