In some countries an increasing number of people are suffering from health problems as a result of eating too much fast food. It is therefore necessary for governments to impose a higher tax on this kind of food. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this opinion? In this day and age, overconsumption of fast foods has become one of the major ills in this these rapidly improving modern urban life. Thus, some argue by raising with rising taxes on these items, administrations can control citizens's health indirectly. However, this approach may neglects some aspects of this issue which can be even beneficial. To begin with, advocates of passing more taxes on fast foods point out that this method can alter this kind of food to an expensive one which in turn can be conducive to a free fall in its consumption. That is to say, if individuals want to spend a considerable amount of money purchasing food, they are more likely to buy the food which comprises more nutritious ingredients. In addition, the more expensive most fast foods become expensive, the fewer number of such restaurants we encounter. In other words, the availability of junk foods has a direct correlation with their its prices. For instance, about two decades ago in my home town pizza was regarded as a relatively high‐price food. Furthermore, there were just a few restaurants in our city which sold pizza. Having said that, however, after placing high taxes on fast food, a multitude of people may be overlooked. To make it crystal clear, a host of workers as well as students are extremely dependent on these foods since they do not have enough time to prepare home‐cooked ones during their work‐days. Secondly, another point that should be made here is not only most of the fast foods are neither greasy nor contain low quality material, and moreover, they have been produced from both fresh and nutritious vegetables and meats, so they should be cheap and affordable for all economic classes. In a nutshell, although there are a host of negative points about fast food, limiting them through increasing prices cannot be a wholly positive development.
