The bar graph illustrates four different types of commuting (bus, car, bike, and foot) that people used for going to work in an European city from 1960 to 2000. Overall, the proportion of commuters who used cars were increased, whereas other types were declined over the whole period. In 1960, using cars/car use/private transport for commuting had the least use by at 35%, while most people commuted to the work on/by their foot, which was about 6%. The percentage use of bus and bike was around 17% and 25%, respectively. Moreover, in 1980, using the bus for commuting ranked first with more than 25%, whereas other types were less such that including/,which: using cars with 22%, 20% for using bike, and finally 17% travel belonged to foot commuters/ passengers. At the end of the period, in 2000, more than 35%/almost a third of the people used cars for going to work. The least use (of vehicles) was for going by bicycle that just 6% of people used.
