The breakthroughs in medical science are have been by far the most significant advances in world society over the last two centuries. Discuss this statement and give your opinion. Thanks to the advances of science and technology in medical science during the past centuries, people nowadays are living longer and healthier. Fatal illnesses such as plague, malaria, and smallpox which were taking their toll earlier, are not only today are these diseases curable today, but preventable. Though, a wide range of more complex diseases have arisen, humans’ average life span has noticeably increased. When it comes to this notion I maintain that this field along with the other branches of science has taken a giant step forward in relief of people’s pains. The 19th and 20th centuries were arguably the golden years of finding solutions to our unsolvable problems. We have explored the space with our sophisticated machines, invented telecommunications equipment to communicate with others regardless of their distance, and more importantly many a medical treatment has been introduced, and saved lives during this historically important epoch. Despite the fact that an overwhelming majority of members of society in this day and age are suffering from a variety of both mental and physical disorders resulted resulting from sedentary lifestyle, recent advances in the pharmaceutical field and medicine have successfully saved a majority of people’s lives who were expected to die. Living with chronically painful injuries because of invasive cruel treatmentstests, many an innocent animal experiences inhumane tests in medical laboratory to be sacrificed in the hope of finding a new finding to help humans live longer with less pain. It is noteworthy many scientists are also working day and night to discover reliable solutions for biological threats which are undoubtedly a byproduct of advances of medical science. Even imagining of the misusage/abuse of these advances by a group can destroy the life and the whole civilization on the old mother Mother natureNature. The new advances in science and technology, and more importantly the new discoveries during the last two centuries have certainly paved the way for a better life if the side effects such as biological threats and newly created viruses can be managed by authorities.
