In many countries, children are engaged in some kind of paid work. Some people regard this as completely wrong, while others consider it as valuable work experience, important for learning and taking responsibility. During childhood milestone, parents face the dilemma of whether to permit their children to get a job or just let them concentrate on their schooling. While giving a job has its merits, I personally believe that for children the emphasis should be placed on education and leisure activities rather than job engagement. At first glance, the option to work from an early age seems to be attractive for several reasons. Not only could they start earning money but also they could they enhance their personal experiences in real world. Besides they have the chance to bridge the technical skills and abstract knowledge in order to easily choose their future career. Therefore they could assume the responsibility in essential parts of their lives and also gradually consolidate their life skills. Hence a more competent workforce with realistic and attainable future goals. On the other hand, despite the benefits of this trend, there are deleterious drawbacks which may ruin their schooling as well as simply undermine their personality by leading them to be pessimistic about their surrounding world. As a child, if they knew harsh realities of the world, it would cause a sense of frustration and would shake their confidence. In addition, when they pursue other ventures rather than their education, due to lack of awareness of their own interests and aptitudes, they would wrongly jump on to a conclusions about their future job whereas it might be just an ephemeral liking. Finally, in my opinion disillusionment with early employment may cause diversion from later objectives. In conclusion, I once again restate my opinion that job may lead to early progression in many aspects. Nevertheless children should not be encouraged to get a job which distances them from sensible lifestyle. Given the seriousness of these problems, I believe that public education campaigns which warning people about the dangers of early job would be warranted.
