In some countries, many more people are choosing to live alone nowadays than in the past. Do you think this is a positive or negative development? Give reason and example A big proportion of people in some countries prefer to live alone while it was not too common in the past. Although some advocate the living with family, I strongly asset that the benefits far outweigh the drawbacks which will be elaborated. Firstly, those who choose to live alone improve their self-reliance and gain more independence. Living alone, they have to increase their self-esteem. Not only can family support limit progress of individuals in having independence personality but also it is as a limitation for their freedom. A good illustration of this is independence of the students that live far from their parents lonely rather than other pupils that are not alone in the period of school life. Yet another rational justification for living alone is improvement of special skills such as cooking. More specifically, people who live alone should overcome a lot of daily problems. There is not anyone to help them for doing a lot of work in the house. For instance they have to manage something like tax payment and totally they should balance cost of living and income meticulously. All of these issues make a person more able and vigorous in encountering the difficulties of life. To sum up, considering the points mentioned above, the most rational conclusion to be drawn is that the advantages of living alone overweigh the disadvantages. This is mainly because people who live alone can use the opportunity to improve some skills more and also they will face more challenges which lead to get more experience for having independent life. .
