Measures have been put in place to improve road safety by reducing the speed limits. Some people believe there are better alternatives. Discuss both views and give your own opinion. Today, thanks to new technologies, there are a bunch of devices that help the police to control speed in roads. However, many people still fail to comply with speed limit/need to move faster and search to find different ways to have safe roads. From one point of view, the main reason of road accidents is the excessive speed of vehicles. The people who have this idea argue that if we drive in at a safe speed, we can take a proper and effective action to avoid collision and stop within a distance appropriate to the circumstances and conditions. Now, usage of speed cameras or other devices in this realm area forces people to reduce speed and as result, accident rates especially fatality and injury ones have decreased. On the other hands, some other people criticize this means for speed limitation speed, citing the very reason that speed was created forthe benefit that vehicles have been created for that actually. The philosophy of invention of mechanical vehicles has been the acceleration of movement and when we restrict it speed by law and its tools, we undermine our main point. In addition, there are lot of methods and technologies that help us to provide safe roads. For instance, improvements to road layout and signage are alternatives to speed cameras because more researches have shown that the rate of car accidents in standard modern roads is significantly lower than the others are not. Moreover, nowadays we can employ new technologies in vehicles to help drivers in control and predict a condition without a notable limitation on speed. In conclusion, while it seems that controlling measures have made roads safer, all of these solutions are temporary and eventually we need to improve infrastructures and ways that the vehicles can be driven.
