Essay: The money given to help poor countries does not solve the problem of poverty, so rich countries should give other types of help instead. To what extent do you agree or disagree? There are different solutions to solve the problem of poverty, that can be categorized to straight funding and indirect investment. In my opinion, investing money to build infrastructures to help the poor could be a more valuable solution since it can have long-term effectiveness. There are many disadvantages to directly giving money to the poor, as it can only be used as a temporary solution. Giving subsidy to the impoverished, just like a painkiller may minimize the problem, but it actually aggravates the inflation. If money is directly given to governments to help the poor, due to inappropriate legislation that had caused the gap between rich and poor, it not only doesn't only help but also maybe just a small portion of it will be given to needy due to financial corruption. Moreover, many of those impoverished, do not exactly know howhave to employ the money to improve their lives effectively. There are worldwide NGOs and other foundations that collects money, investing in areas to improve the standard of living of the poor. These funds can be invested to accommodate the homeless, to improve sanitation, as well as constructing especial schools in isolated areas where young children work in order to feed their family and do not earn enough to pay school fees. Taxes can be managed to increase the minimum wage, as it can easily improve their lives since they can eat better, seek a better education and their children can have better jobs. additionally, they can buy more and factories have to produce more, so more workers are needed, consequently more job opportunities are provided for the jobless. All in all, direct funding cannot permanently solve the problems of improvised, but constructing infrastructures to help them improve their standard of living as well as reducing inequalities would be more beneficial.
