Advantages and disadvantages of the the internet: As we are all aware, mankind has consistently intendeds to find ways to ameliorates life. To pave the road, or better say, to quench the thirst, people experience, experiment, explore and invent. Among all those inventions, the one which plays a significant role in our today's life is the internet. I opine that every inventions has its owns advantages and disadvantages. This essay will study the pros and cons of the internet. Although The internet makes the world a small village, it contains some disadvantages. Some people believe that having easy access to the internet on mobile phones makes people further from each other. When the members of a family gather together, instead of talking to each other, spending time with one another and enjoying the presence of the other members of the family, they spend their time on the internet, which as time goes by, ruins the family institution. The others might not find the internet useful, because they think that their offsprings spend their whole time on the internet, playing games, getting in touch with friends on social medias and even surfing the webpages that might not be suitable for their ages in terms of content. These kids turn out to be lazy and sometimes insociable. Besides, the more we spend time on cyberspaces, the less we know what is going on around us in the real world. Having access to the internet or not having this facility is a controversial subject, since we cannot totally ignore the advantages and positive effects it has on our lives. In the past, people had to try hard and sometimes traverse the seven seas to obtain information. In contrast, today we are only one click away from having all the data needed in hand. Moreover, not only do not we not need to write letters and postal cards, go to post offices and mail them to our beloved ones who are miles away, but we can talk to them, send them emails, messages, make video calls and simply contact them wherever they are in the world. In addition to the above mentioned points, through the internet we are aware of what is going on in the world, economically wise, politically wise, scientifically wise and in any other aspect of life. Thanks to the the internet, we are also able to read books, magazines, articles online. Having it around makes it possible to know what is going on in every corner of the world. I personally believe that advantages of the internet overweight outweigh its disadvantages and it is ultimately up to us how to utilise it and other facilities. We can use them to improve our lives as well as the others and make the world a better place, or use it to decrease the quality of life.
