TOPIC: It is generally believed that the Internet is an excellent means of communication but some people suggest that it may not be the best place to find information. Discuss both these views and give your own opinion. The Internet is the most important technological development. Nowadays almost everyone in the world has access to the internet. It has significant changes in all aspects of family life and education. Some of these changes have been positive while others have been negative. This essay will discuss both sides of this issue. Using the internet has become a normal part of everyday life for many people in this rapidly changing world and no sensible person will deny that it has various uses. The convenience and speed of the internet enables people of all ages to form communities in new and unique relationships. For instance, in discussion forums, people can easily communicate and share their ideas. It is a great tool for interacting around the world at a relatively low cost. Not only does the internet provide provides the internet many learning opportunities, but also facilitates research activities. When it comes to finding out information, the internet helps people gain access to all sorts of information although it has more drawbacks than the advantages. There are several possible reasons why it can happen. Firstly, some data may be unverifiable. There would be lots of choices which appear on the screen while searching for a specific topic which people would not be sure whether the information is accurate or not. Secondly, some sites may be unreliable, so it is important to check where information which originated from before using it. And finally, not everything is available through the net. To sum up, whilst I am prepared to admit that there are strong positive effects to of the internet in terms of its educational role, but it has in many ways altered people and families in a negative sense.
