Some believe buildings should be built in a way that serves their purpose rather than just look beautiful. Others, however, say buildings should represent art too. Discuss both views and give your own opinion. The significant growth of metropolitan areas in the most major cities around the world has provoked various debates. Thus, you may frequently face a very simple yet fundamental question about the true purpose of housing. Some people believe that buildings should serve the most as a habitat while the others reckon that it should be artistic too. On the one hand, those who are proponents of the functional point of view in regard to buildings reason that a house should bring comfort and ease for those who settle in. otherwise it is no thing just a combination of nonsense materials substances such as soil and concrete. Suppose you have an office with a magnificent façade and a floor covered with stunning marble stones but without proper access stairs which makes all these beauties absolutely worthless. On the other hand, those who opt for artistic ideas in regard to properties usually mention that art brings spirit and joy to our life. Therefore, a place that where we live our life should represent one of the most unique aspects of the human culture which is art. Imagine how dispiriting a series of solid cubic concrete as a neighborhood is. It definitely has a huge adverse impact on life satisfaction as well as the general public happiness. Hence, artistic elements should be considered as a crucial consideration/assumption while initiating a construction project. I, personally, maintain that a building is not either a solid component of different materials or an art piece solely but rather both function and artistic appearance are necessary and inseparable for obtaining a cohesive concept called "a building". There are innumerous cases throughout history we can use to draw sound inferences supporting the mentioned statement from luxury palaces where great rulers used to have lived many years ago to incredible brand new skyscrapers representing multinational business firms. To sum up, I think function and art together in a building or in other words architecture could be the best approach to provide people with a roof over their head where they feel happy and safe or work and enjoy both.
