In the past, shopping was a routine domestic task. Many people nowadays regard it as a hobby. To what extent do you think this is a positive trend? Today most of the people try to fill their leisure time with visiting malls and occasionally purchasing unnecessary products just for fun, whereas in old days shoppers were mostly those who needed things/items for their daily life such as food. Critics of this kind of customers assert that they have not any plans for their free time and they go to stores for passing it, and sometimes they buy useless luxury merchandise casually and waste their money extravagantly. Besides, they are losing the opportunity of considering beneficial hobbies like going out outgoing and camping, also the opportunity fortune of getting together with their families especially with beloved ones. They feel content/satisfied fulfill neither with their excessive expenses nor by with just walking the stores. On the other hand, there are people who claim that the general public must be free to choose how do they prefer to spend their time and savings deposit. Although walking the stores and visiting shops one by one might appear to opponents as wasting time, for people who do this, it is a reasonable way to get rid of daily stresses and a proper method to reduce the pressure of the burden of life on their shoulder especially for the most emotional of them and particularly women. In my opinion, despite the fact that modernization has have changed every aspect of people’s daily life style and expecting them to have relaxing methods like people who were living in the fifties seems inequitable, people should know when they are reaching to their limits and abundantly trying to fill their time with shopping and shopping around street walking, they are sacrificing other pleasant activities which could be more fun and relaxing. In conclusion, neither is purchasing for fun an improper manner for reducing life’s pressures, nor can people can act as machines which just have been programmed for routine local tasks. The most noteworthy point is that everybody should maintain a balance among all their different leisure activities. his/her leisure time satisfying efforts.
