Many people agree that free public transportation should be available in most major cities. What are the advantages and disadvantages of this idea? With passage of time, due to town/urban sprawl, the urban trips have been escalating. This phenomenon results in traffic congestion as well as air pollution. Therefore, it is it's necessary to find … effective remedy to solve these issues such as providing affordable and effective public transportation. Now a query requiring to be raised is whether public transportation should be free or not. The benefits and drawbacks of this policy are outlined below. Recently, urban trips have been exponentially growing namely, business journeys or day excursions that not only does severely affect the environment, but also compounds the traffic issues, hence the importance of public transportation. Some maintain that for prompting oting people not to take private cars we is should provide free public transportation besides more consideration for the efficiency of it as though such that covering the a broad range of a city's area is covered in terms of accessibility. Although it seems such a decision is a decent incentive, it is a solution especially for those who have are difficulties in affording costs that they, indeed, do not have private cars. Undoubtedly, some prohibitive plans should be adopted to decrease the usage of cars such as increasing petrol's cost. Additionally, enhancing the transport infrastructures involves considerable expense that a greater portion of the money is provided by the payments which society takes as the tickets or taxes, because more improvement in infrastructures results in more demand for public transportation. Moreover, there are several courses of action to deal with this issue open to authorities, the most important of which is education. Authorities can play a crucial role in informing people about the detrimental impacts of private cars, because an ounce of prevention is worth a pound penny of cure. In sum, in my opinion making free provision of public transportation free is not a proper solution because in order that , it only serves to complicate the problem in future due to monetary issues that authorities will struggle with and Also, implementing this scheme at the expense of performance is not acceptable. Perhaps, it is worth noting/saying to say that striking a relative balance between affordability and efficiency is an appropriate policy to pave the government's way in this respect.
