Many educators believe that international exchange trips are beneficial for students. Do you agree or disagree with this statement? Give your opinion and include any relevant examples from your own experience. Participate in an educational program in a foreign country is a lifelong ambition for many students all over the world. In my opinion, being involved in such international programs has many advances for students if the education system provides the proper requisites for them. Being involve in an exchange program especially a foreign one has many advantages. Firstly, by studying abroad individuals expose themselves to a new environment and culture which can expand their knowledge about other countries and in general change their perception of the world. Secondly, students will improve their adaptability by getting out of their comfort zone. Thirdly, it will provide more opportunity for students by introducing them to a new academic world in which they can establish communication with more tutors and experts. For example, some of my friends have been funded by a grant from foreign institutions while doing post doctoral research overseas. Finally, these programs are also effective to challenge students to develop a global perspective. Students may encounter many difficulties during their study in a foreign country. Firstly, some of them may feel like a fish out of the water and cannot endure the differences or experience culture shock. Secondly, exchanging students needs to provide a raft of requirements such as accommodation, food and transportation. Thirdly, hence being apart from their family, students have to overcome many problems such as health ones and this may disturb their concentration. In conclusion, although by studying abroad individuals may experience much more hardships than their peers in their home country, they will enrich their personality and broaden their horizons.
