The mass media, including television, radio and newspapers, have great influence in shaping people's ideas. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this statement? Over the last half century the pace of information flow has increased beyond our wildest expectations. No longer do people rely on a limited number of media like television or radio to acquire their required data. Although still mass media still contribute to developing ideas, today we live in a world that where individuals form their ideas substantially through comparing different beliefs and notions gained from several available sources. Hardly can we assert that people shape their thoughts purely only by being exposeding to the ideas spreading via mass media nowadays. Individuals are more educated and informed because of a great deal of information they receive on a daily basis as well as technological advancements facilitating our access to facts and data in a glimpse. Bombarded with paradoxical information everyday, people have learned to always suspect the accuracy of the news they hear, watch or read. They are more aware of commercial purposes hidden in many of the data that mass media broadcast, hence the importance of contemplating and investigation before believing in the concepts which are tried to be publicized. On the other hand, the influence of mass media, in particular, television, in shaping people's mind is undeniable. Television and radio as the cheapest and most accessible media across the world play a significant role in building a person's opinions. Sometimes the media even has the power to trick audiences by reflecting an untrue matter as the true one or the other way around. In conclusion, I am of this opinion that humans used to rely on media to shape their mind considerably in the past, while ,today, the more educated people become, the less they might be influenced by the stories they are fed through mass media.
