1. The exploration and development of safe alternatives to fossil fuels should be the most important global priority today.to what extent do you disagree or agree? As carbon-based fuels like coal, oil and natural gas are the major sources of energy all over the world, some are of the view that replacing them with safer sources is of the greatest importance among all global issues, and I subscribe to that view. Due to fossil fuels' low-cost and their pivotal role in the production of many items of our daily essentials, the growing population of the world has become more dependent on such resources. Our heavy reliance on these non-renewable fuels, though, has had an adverse influence on the environment. The first drawback of using them is that a substantial amount of carbon dioxide is released when such fuels burn. Carbon emissions are the primary gases responsible for global warming as they add to the greenhouse effect contributing to/which contributes to a reduction in global food production, catastrophic droughts and floods or melting of ice sheets that could eventually raise sea levels which may lead to some cities getting wiped outwiping out. Besides, being exploited excessively, the reservoirs are getting depleting depleted at a faster rate than before. Therefore, the fossil fuels' overconsumption must be a matter of concern to all nations and governments. Resolving this global issue is beyond the capacity of one nation so the governments must co-operate to mitigate the problems. The UK, the USA and Japan for instance, are developing eco-friendly forms of energy like solar or hydroelectric power while many undeveloped countries are not on a par with them. Therefore, a worldwide co-operation is required to bridge the gap and preserve the planet for future generations. Of coursehowever, other global issues like widespread illiteracy and poverty or rising unemployment are also in desperate need of being dealt with. But what makes resolving the energy problems more urgent is that it might be too late if we postpone it. In conclusion, although several issues have been threatening the world and , all of which are crucial to be addressed, I believe that having fossil fuels altered should be prioritized unless we want them severely depleted or ruining the planet.

If you want to recommend a way to reduce living expenses for your friend, which of the following will you choose? Why?  Find a roommate to share a room  Do not buy the latest mobile phone, Buy new technological devices less Frequently.  Buy cheap foods and cook home (do not often eat outside). Having the ability to reduce the expenses by saving strategies has become one of the great challenges for people. If I were to offer a way to reduce my friend’s daily costs, among many options I would encourage her to find a roommate to share a place because of rent payment, sharing cooking skills in order to avoid eating cheap food and being a great help in times of need. First of all, as the house rent has seen a dramatic increase in the past few years, for some people it has become almost impossible to take out a lease on a house. The situation gets worse if they are a student, whose full-time study schedule does not allow them to work for some hours a day. In this case by finding a roommate the rent expenses will be shared. Not only will they half halve the rent, but also other expenses such as electricity, gas or phone bills will be shared. As a result, by lowering the cost of the house, my friend’s savings would rise in the long run. Moreover, since people are totally busy during the day, many are lacking in time to prepare a healthy meal for themselves. When you have someone in the house whose time is flexible for making a food, the need to order from outdoor restaurants will decrease. Indeed, the money that my friend has to pay for the foodstuffs is much cheaper than she has to pay for a restaurant meal. Besides, if they are coming from a different cultural background, while they are enjoying a delicious meal, they can learn a new recipe. As a consequence, she will lead a healthy lifestyle by cooking most of the meals in the home. Finally, not everyone can do all the household’s duty by themselves. For example, if you have never fixed a radiator in your life, you probably will not be able to fix it in your first try. If my friend was living alone, she would have probably called the serviceman and payed paid too much for that. But in some cases, the roommate would be a great help in fixing stuffs tools and devices/appliances such as the radiator, or the cooling system or even finding the problem of with your car when you are in a hurry for your morning class. In all these situations, there is no need to pay extra money for solving the problems, while you also can be useful for them in the same situation. Therefore, knowing that you are not alone in times of crisis need/hardships would make you calmer. To sum up, for decreasing the costs, I would suggest my friend to find a roommate, because in this case she can save some money, establish a healthy lifestyle and be relaxed. When there is a new technological device is available, some people will buy it immediately while others will wait until many others have adopted it. Which view do you agree more? No one can ever deny the significant role of technology on people's life. It is obvious that, each technological device has some advantages and disadvantages. Personally, I believe that by not buying it immediately not only will it be more practical for people but also it has will have some benefits and some reasons persuade me to put forward this view which I will explain with a couple of examples. To begin with, there is no doubt that each technological device has some negative bugs which will be improved after a while, so it will be more beneficial for users, if they wait for rectify rectification of the bugs and then purchase it because in that condition they did will not have waste their time for extol upgrading their apparatuses. My personal experience is a compelling illustration of this. My brother and I bought the iPhone 4 months apart. I had an 6 iPhone 6 and my brother had a 6s. I struggled with diverse issues such as keeping charge or connecting to the Wi-Fi but he did not, just because iPhone designers realized the previous series bugs and launched a new modified series. Another considerable point is a the price. When Novel products when are newly introduced, they are more expensive than they must be. Hence, it is more economical to wait a while/short period of time in order toso that the costs will be reduced which is conducive to saving more money for individuals to for the same device. For instance, IBM Simon was a the first touch iPhone in thea whole world which was extremely expensive on at that time but after a while other companies such as Nokia, Samsung succeeded in producing the phone touch screen which hadat a more reasonable price. To cut a long story short, although some people are eager to get new devices as soon as possible, I strongly believe the disadvantages of this approach/attitude/decision/occurrence greatly outweigh the benefits. (Owning to fact that)/because/since the bugs are not discovered yet and besides the price is not logical.
