Some people argue that governments should spend money only on medical care and education but not on theaters or sports stadiums. Do you agree or disagree? We are living in a world where the provision of state education, what which is necessary for the mental and physical health of each and every individual member of society is so important that governments are expected to spend a good deal of their funding on such areas. When it comes to specifying the public budget on these areas, I subscribe to the view that owing to the importance of all the mentioned subject, we would rather cover all of which it evenly. In almost all parts of the world, people are paying tax to governments thereby expecting the officials to provide them with high standards of living. Free education, health insurance and sports facilities are considered of basic infrastructure in a modern community without which perhaps people face crucial plights. In this day and age, an overwhelming majority of the populace are used to a sedentary lifestyle, hence the importance of sports and health facilities are at in the same position. With the hectic pace of life, no longer do civilized citizens living in luxurious metropolitan areas have time to even think about the disasters they have made created during the last century. Many a person is not aware of the irrecoverable impacts of our recent development at the price of global warming or losing tropical rainforests. Only when an attractive theatres or movies is are produced, can critics can draw people’s attention to such lifethreatening subjects, . therefore, I maintain that focusing on artistic subjects like theatre is as important as is widespread education. To cut a long story short, I believe focusing on medical health and education and leaving other areas like fine arts and sports can lead a leading society into serious problems, so it is of utmost importance to strike a balance between apparent and non-obvious needs of a community.

At universities and colleges, sports and social activities are just as important as classes and libraries and should receive equal financial support. One of the challenging issues the universities are facing with, is about students̕ curriculum and extracurricular programs. All over the world, limited budgets are allocated to the universities and their university officials have to decide how to allot it them to various parts/areas. However, there is not a consensus as to whether the sports and social activities are as important as classes, I adopt a firm position that universities̕ authorities should allocate equal financial support in to these fields. In what follows, I will try to explain my reasons, which I believe are more important. To begin, schools, colleges and universities are considered as a small society and they should encompass the various aspects of the community. However, the main mission of universities is to provide a platform to present the specialized courses for students and to increase their professional knowledge, physical and social activities can physically and mentally enhance the students̕ health. These activities can alleviate and diminish the fatigue and give them more energy, which enhances the quality of their studying, while the continuous studying in a the long-term diminishes the individual̕ s efficiency. To put it another way, sports and social activities indirectly benefit students to a better performance in their academic lives, because they can spend their free time through these activities to concentrate better when they are involving involved with the lessons. Psychological studies have shown that exercises and sports strengthen the immune system and decrease the cortisol hormone, which is well known as anxiety and stress hormone./fight or flight Another equally important point to be mentioned is that social activities and sports can boost the interpersonal relationship, teamwork and communicational skills. Most of the time, in academic situations students speak to each other about subjects relating to academic courses. If the students access to places other than labs and classes in on campus and the university was is equipped with sport clubs, gyms and theater salons, they can communicate to with each other and speak together about other activities that are delightful for them. Furthermore, they can get to know new people, discover their other talents and nurture them besides their academic skills. To sum up, however although a plethora of people believe that students have to only focus on their specialized classes in order to have a success, I̕ am on of the opinion that students needs to pay equal attention to classes as well as extracurricular activities.

That is to say, turning the wheels of publishing, officials keep websites and cyber piracies under surveillance and punish them by imposing sanctions and banning their activities. When all is said and done, hardly can we find a reliable website on the internet to download free materials. In addition, although e-books have enjoyed a surged in popularity in recent years, they have yet to render physical books and newspapers obsolete due to many reasons. Firstly, many an avid reader cherishes the gesture of touching papers and the aesthetical values of physical books as well as sharing and giving them to others as a gift. Secondly, while reading an online version provides readers with some conveniences such as built-in dictionaries and encyclopedias, looking through pages and annotating are done more easily with the classic forms of books. Finally, individuals claim that they are more concentrated while reading printed books since book reader devices connect to the internet, thus distracting them by numerous notifications. In conclusion, the internet by and large has placed the entire world and all the information in it at our fingertips. As there are different ways to realize what others think about a specific subject, following those news sources reflecting their ideas could be invaluable. For example, if a democrat person is about to have a discussion with a republican, before having their debate, it works for both sides to refer to each other’s medium. In times of election, if a democratic person follows Fox News, this could give them the idea to fully comprehend a republican worldview. The more they know their perspective, the better they can interact with each other, criticizing their opponents’ beliefs. Therefore, by engaging in such debates, people will practice their soft skills through these conversations. Moreover, nowadays, being able to think critically is of great importance in many ways. Besides, by thinking critically, the danger of becoming too dogmatic about one’s beliefs, decreases. I suggest that media policy makers create an environment, so that even minorities can express their opinions because in this way soft skills are practiced, societies become wiser and people can state their opinion easily.

I am sure some people would argue that spending money on arts is money wasting, although it is not all just about financial issues. On the one hand, building movie theaters, cinemas, concert halls and purpose-built artsbuildings requires a lot of money which are hardly used by impoverished citizens. Undoubtedly, all these places are used for recreation which is the low priority in deprived people’s lives. For instance, buying theater or cinema’s tickets is not affordable for ones those who are suffering from poverty. Having a shelter for inner city citizens is absolutely vital that had better be assigned more budget than arts. On the other hand, having world-renowned museums and art galleries is the main cause of having rich culture, by help of which the governments can attract more tourists and create more job opportunities. However, it turns out that building new roads is not effective enough, for instance, when the government buildsmake a new roderoad, in order to shorten the path, more people will be willing to use cares cars to go to work every day thus, after a few weeks there will be a new rode road also, a new congestion. It seems to me, developing of a public transport fleet will be effective and more sustainable. Also, it will lead to less air pollution and saving our time, because nevertheless although we are commuting, we are not driving therefore, we can spend our time by reading a book or listening to a podcast. However, none of them are not the final or the best solution, not for environmental impact neither for financial costs, as well as time wasting.
