Nowadays people can buy a large variety of household goods, more than ever before in most countries in the world. Is this a good or bad development? Give your opinion and examples. Thanks to the white goods people are living an easier life than that of their ancestors living decades ago. While this higher standard of living is absolutely desirable to an overwhelming majority of individuals, others wholeheartedly are not happy based on reasonable grounds. The following lines turn the spotlight on this controversial topic. That we are living in a world full of artificial attractions made by intelligent people is an indisputable fact. Gone are the days when humans had close ties with nature, and had a healthier lifestyle. In this day and age not only are we consuming the old Mother Nature’s mineral resources more than what is expected to produce household appliances, but we are also destroying our planet by plenty of waste produced by used materials left from households. Having said that, it goes without saying that not only is living without major appliances not feasible for a vast majority of people, but it also can degrade our standard of living to a certain degree. Tiered tired of the hectic pace of life, people living in metropolitan areas have no other choice than using such commodities so that they can save their time to rest or escape from their sedentary lifestyle. Only when people can leave their chores to machines, can they dedicate some of their limited time to physical activities to lead a healthy lifestyle. To cut a long story short, I maintain that by the advent of household appliances we could managed to bridge the seemingly unbridgeable gap between modernity and traditional lifestyle in a way that even busy people could leave a lot of their personal chores to the machines. With the wisdom of hindsight, had we learnt how to reduce the waste and energy consumed by such a helpful goods, we could have drastically lessened the destruction to the environment made by usage of these gadgets.

The world is consuming natural resources faster than they can be renewed. Therefore, it is important that products are made to last. Governments should discourage people from constantly buying more up to date or fashionable products. To what extent do you agree with the statement above? In times of rising major cities, consumers of leading- edge devices and new fashionable goods is are rising too but rapidly. People demand for up to date products every few years and as a result most of the people are becoming blind consumers. On the one hand, many people opine that there is no panacea for the country’s countries’ economic problems unless there are many a great demands for companies’ productions. Economic Economy is often quoted as a factor behind the consumption of national resources, thereby developing in an unsustainable way. Governments have to introduce tougher laws to prevent this unsustainable growth or at least finite limit the use of resources because the more consumption, the higher the rate of instability in future. On the other hand, measures could take place in order to lessen the disruption of the environment. Governments or companies’ legislations would have solved the disruption of natural resources at the very beginning, had they focused on recycling products they produced to give an up to date version to consumers. For instance, when people are longing for buying a flagship smartphone, the company should take the old phone in case of not having a new owner and then provide individuals with a newer version. I am personally inclined to agree with the idea that taking recycling into consideration coupled with limitation of using the world’s resources can solve most of the problems with consumption.

You have decided to go on a holiday to a foreign country for 2 weeks and you want one of your friends to go with you. Write a letter to your friend asking him to accompany you. In your letter, - Explain where and when you want to go - Give details of the travel, dates and costs involved - Describe some of the things you want to do Dear Ali, I thought you should be interested in an overseas trip I'm going to book for the next month to Malaysia. I have a good plan for the journey and I am wondering thinking ofthat we will be doing some entertaining activities. First of all, let me tell you about the details. We're going to have a two-week residence stay in Kuala Lumpur and Langkawi. The departure will be at 12 o'clock September 17th having and it will be a seven-hour flight with Mahan Air. Considering the accommodation cost, airplane tickets and daily expenditure for meals and transportation, I've to say that the minimum budget we must allocate is two thousand dollars. As you may have heard about, Malaysia is one of the most fantastic/scenic countries in Asia and there are a variety of places to visit. Having outstanding towering cliffs where you can enjoy unspoiled landscape, Genting Highland is my first priority to go. Moreover, with the most well-known wildlife reserve being located in Langkawi, unless we go there, we will certainly miss the opportunity of seeing some strange animals in the world. Finally, I suggest visiting some ancient buildings which are of considerably high importance. I would really appreciate if you came with me. Looking forward to hearing from you. Best wishes, Vahid
